It’s Good To Be Back
Okay! We’re back! Sorta.
For the last couple of months I’ve been fretting over a new website design and comics production stuff. I know, lots of things have stopped, changed, reversed, and all sorts of other stuff and completely without any word from me on what was going on. That level of uncertainty is something I’m really accustomed to doing whenever the mood strikes, but I know it doesn’t leave a lot for readers to feel confident about, especially given so much other stuff is going on in the world.
For now I don’t want to get into other background stuff but all things are good! I’m also cleaning up some stuff with the comics and will be back to regular page posting by the turn of the new year. For now, I’m investing my energies into these several projects:
Website redesign. I moved to Squarespace from Wix mostly because I wanted to test the waters in a new site provider, but also because of some basic QOL stuff that I felt were better here than there. So far I’m liking what I see and I think I’ll settle here for now. Sorry about going MIA!
Espermarch. First graphic novel project is in the works and I’m trying to get it done by the end of 2024. I’m specifically pushing myself because I’m sick and tired of floating and having the idea for this thing in my head and not moving on it. So far so good!! While this will be a physical book and will not release as a webcomic, meaning you won’t see weekly pages, you will see regular development updates, most likely through social media. This is also the prelude book to The Four (see next point, below) and what is in here will impact those books so that will necessitate some changes to simplify some story-beats.
The Four. You know, Blackbirds, Hedge Kingdom, Black Mercury, and Dragoon. They will be back in 2025. The stories all got slight changes but nothing groundbreaking, mostly just titles and some paring down of my worse storytelling habits. You’ll also see some development updates as I address character designs, fixtures and fonts, locations, colors and themes, and other things. What I need to do as a major part of this is finish the issue 1s that I started and get them all posted up here for reading, and then we can move into the next things to be done.
End of the year, all of this major work should be done, and we should be smooth-sailing into continued storyline and other stuff! Thank you for hanging out and I hope you stay tuned to the blogs and gallery pages here, as well as social media.
